We are the Sherlock Holmes English-speaking Vernacular.
God save Fu Manchu, Moriarty and Dracula.
We are the Office Block Persecution Affinity.
God save little shops, china cups, and virginity.

The Kinks and their uncompromisingly English ‘Village Green Preservation Society’. Talking of preserve, Sam’s back with her allotment and jam see page 8. Dave Roberts from Colton Crown Green bowling might like some jam butties, while he sits back and watches the bowling and cricket this coming summer. And while he’s busy with that, Warren’s been wandering about Temple Newsam woods looking for Snowdrops and Crocuses but God help you if you are a mole or a Spanish bluebell! If you fancy a traditional Sunday Roast then it might be a good idea to get yourself up to the Gascoigne Arms in Barwick where they’re offering 15% discount and although they might not have a village green, they do have a maypole standing strong and proud. There is a village green in Seacroft though and John Moody’s spent many a happy hour there as part of Sound & Vision DJ back in the day. Just up the road is the lovely Chapel FM who are about to start showing community screenings of films, starting with I Daniel Blake.
Don’t forget the events held for St.Gemma’s, with the Spring Fair coming up on 18th March, if you can’t make that, you could always swim the Channel!
