Well I’m beginning to see the light.
Well I’m beginning to see the light.
Some people work very hard,
But still they never get it right.
Well I’m beginning to see the light.

Another year another part of our youth dies as Lou Reed passed away to walk on the peaceful side. Beginning to See the Light was one of the Velvet Underground finest moments and seemed apt – the winter solstice approaches, which gives us cause to look forward as the nights (very) slowly get lighter.

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat but don’t mention fat birds to pigeon fanciers Glen & Dougie who like their birds fit to fly.  Talking of birds, Wilsons Butchers tell us where their birds come from and help you organise your Christmas fayre. Abel Kubare ponders over ladies spending yuletide on the moon while Grace Communion Church invite us all for a sing-song at their Carol Service on 21st December.

It’s not a careless whisper as George Michael celebrates 40 years of serving fish & chips as Crossgates Fish Bar by extending and rebranding as Oceans, an exciting new fish restaurant on Austhorpe Road.

And don’t forget Barwicks finest Dene Michael has a christmas duet out with Les Battersby aka Bruce Jones, for more info have a look on www.denemichael.co.uk

And lastly a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to all our readers.
